A room should work as well as it looks.
My starting point is the way a space is used. Where do you walk? What needs a home? Which pieces do you want to keep? Those questions come before another cushion or a new paint color.
I like a room with breathing space and a little character. That might mean repeating one color, bringing in a softer texture or letting a well-loved object be the interesting part. It rarely needs to mean replacing everything.
What you’ll find here
- Small spaces: layouts, useful storage and details that make the space you have feel easier.
- Living rooms: comfortable seating, warm textures and corners worth settling into.
- Kitchen styling: everyday surfaces and coffee corners that look considered and still work hard.
- Seasonal decor: a fresh branch, a little ribbon or one thoughtful change of mood.
A little of my decorating point of view
Warm oak over a perfectly matching furniture set. A small pool of lamplight over a room lit only from above. A useful tray over a crowded counter. Something personal over another object chosen just to fill a gap.
I’m less interested in giving every room a new look than in finding the detail that helps it feel more like yours.
Start with one thoughtful change.
Choose the corner that could make your day a little easier. Clear a surface, move a chair or try a lamp in a different spot. Let that be enough for a first step.
Take a look at the small-space ideas, or start with the room you’re thinking about today. Make yourself at home.
